Hello There! My name is Shawn and I’m based in the city of Leipzig, Germany.

How long have I been longboard dancing?

I started in August of 2017, so as of writing this article I’ve been doing it for about a year.

What’s my current dancing setup?

I’ve got two setups I currently use:

1. Bastlboards Bolero Flex II / Bolzen Trucks / Ahmyo Vibez Wheels
2. Bastlboards Walzer Flexx II / Paris V3 / Bloodorange Morgans

What motivated me to start longboard dancing?

One of my best friends was a professional longboard slalom rider in a former life, and he kinda turned me on to riding a longboard during a Berlin visit one time. Before ya know it I bought my own crappy longboard for cruising (doesn’t work so well in Leipzig), but that opened me up to looking for YouTube tutorials on how to do more stuff on a longboard. Through this effort, I discovered the below video and it was then I decided I wanted to become a longboard dancer.

What’s been my favorite longboard dancing experience thus far?

Hands down, participating in Longboarding Days & Nights in Portugal. It was a week long camp where I did nothing but longboard, surf, eat, learn, and laugh with some amazing people from all over the place. I summarized that entire experience on my personal blog, which you can read here.

What’s my favorite move to do on a longboard?

Well my friends like to call me Shuvit-Shawn, so definitely the Shuvit!

What cool things do I like to do, other than longboard dancing?

I love other forms of dancing as well, I’m very engaged with the latin and funk/urban dance scenes in Leipzig, and find it one of the most rewarding forms of expression a person can do. Other than that I am a huge nerd, I love Marvel movies, and I’m a vegan so I’m always on the move to find the next best vegan cake.
